Ethical Matters

Wednesday, October 30, 2024
3:00-4:00pm (Eastern Time)

Explore how ethics in career development relates to you, your clients, and other stakeholders. With a diverse group of career development professionals in NCDA, ethics is all about transparency. This includes defining the space in which you work, how you apply elements of the Code of Ethics, how you can make an impact on your wider circle, and enjoy the work you do.

Presenters:

Conquaya James, MS, EdS, NCC, currently serves as Co-Chair of NCDA’s Ethics Committee. She has been a Board-Certified Counselor for 20 years, has served on the NCDA Ethics Committee since 2008, and has held leadership positions within a diverse range of university career centers. Conquaya owns Careers By Design, LLC in Macon, Georgia, where she loves gifting preteens, teens, and young adults with the confidence to take the lead in designing a career that helps close the gap to their ideal lifestyle.

David M. Reile, PhD, CCC, PCC, currently serves as Co-Chair of NCDA’s Ethics Committee. He is a licensed psychologist, Certified Career Counselor, and executive coach with 30 years of education and experience in career planning, coaching, and consultation. David's experience has been applied in organizational development and consultation as well as management of counselors and career development projects through his company, the Career Development Alliance (CDA). David is a past president (2016-2017) of NCDA, becoming a Fellow in 2021. David served NCDA as chair of the Ethics Committee from 2004-2009, overseeing the 2007 and 2015 revisions of the NCDA Code of Ethics.
