Ellen Weaver Paquette, NCC, CSSP, NCDA Fellow and FCD Master Trainer Preceptor has taught career development to graduate students in counseling for 34 years while teaching the FCD certification to those in agencies, government, business and education in the United States and abroad. She has taught in Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and most recently Saudi Arabia. She has been recognized for her contributions to NCDA in two prestigious awards, has served on the NCDA FCD original Advisory Council and on the NCDA Board of Directors. Ellen is known for her depth of knowledge and practice, her humor, mentoring of students and perspective within the career development field. She holds two advanced degrees in counseling psychology from Rhode Island College and has lengthy experience in higher education administration. Ellen has presented at state, regional, national conferences in the United States and Canada on topics such as career genograms, using supervision in career counseling and social media.

Dr. Hyung Joon Yoon is an Associate Professor and Professor-in-Charge of the Workforce Education and Development Program at Penn State University and a Master Trainer for NCDA’s Facilitating Career Development curriculum. He earned his Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from Penn State and has extensive experience in teaching, training, and research in career development, human resource development, and organizational change. Dr. Yoon is a co-developer of the internationally recognized Hope-Action Theory and its related assessment tools, which focus on fostering agency and hope in career planning and transitions. He has trained and mentored career professionals, graduate students, and practitioners across higher education, corporate, and nonprofit settings, and has designed and facilitated programs that integrate theory, research, and practice. His teaching emphasizes the practical application of career development theories, helping skills, technologies, and facilitation methods to support diverse learners in achieving clarity, adaptability, and resilience in their career journeys. As an FCD Instructor, Dr. Yoon brings a strong foundation in theory, extensive teaching and facilitation experience, and a commitment to preparing participants to deliver high-quality career services in varied settings.
